summary written by Caroline
In the lands of the Digimon Sovereigns, Calumon's cage that took him to the area finally breaks has he is taken to the under ground of the Sovereigns' kingdom. Calumon's new home is a unique place which looks a lot like a test tube. He is horrified to be stuck in such a place so he decides to use one of his special attacks to get out of this horrid test tube. But while trying to summon a powerful blast of attacks he remembers that he doesn't have any special attacks!
But he doesn't give into his weakness and once again tries to get out of the test tube by running into it with his small body. But still, nothing happens and it looks like he is locked in until someone lets him out. So, Calumon knows that he will just have to sit back and wait for something interesting to happen, and sure enough a few seconds later this huge upside-down triangle appears from outside the test tube. Calumon then says to himself that it looks quite familiar and he is right because the same object can be seen on his forehead.
After the weird looking object disappears Calumon realizes that he might have been in this same place a long time ago. This makes him panic and straight away he hopes that one of his friends will come in and rescue him from the horrid object that he just saw. So, he sits down and starts waiting for something else to happen.
Kenta who loves telling jokes to the others while he and Kazu get a lift from Guilmon who was somehow was able to Digivolve to his champion form gets told off from the others when they finally get sick of hearing his sick jokes. After this happens Kenta says that he wants to go home because he finds the Digital World boring. No-one really listens to him and they don't speak again until Leomon asks Jeri how she was feeling. She is riding on Kyubimon's back with Rika. She says she's fine and then she asks how Kyubimon is feeling. Of course Kyubimon is fine as well and then Rika says that everyone is okay but they would be better off if they had Takato with them.
Meanwhile, Takato, Henry, Lopmon, Suzie and Terriermon are at the lands of the Digimon Sovereigns where they met up with some Digi Gnomes who seem to want to tell them something, but before Takato can ask them if they know where Guilmon and the others are, the Digi Gnomes fly away.
After this, Henry gets an idea. He still hasn't asked Lopmon if she knows where Calumon is. When he shows Lopmon the drawing of Calumon, Lopmon says that she does know him because Calumon is the key of Digivolution. Suzie doesn't understand a word of what Lopmon is saying, so once again they have to explain it to her. But has it turns out, Calumon is somewhere in the Sovereigns' lands so it means that the Tamers are quite near him. So, now all they have to do is go past the Phoenix Gate and down to the South Gate and they should be able to find Calumon there.
After finding this out, Takato wants to go find Calumon, but Henry doesn't want to run into danger yet, because if they went down there then Suzie would be in danger. Terriermon tells Henry that he shouldn't worry about Suzie because she is a Tamer now. Suzie agrees with this, and she takes her Digivice out of her little handbag and shows it to Henry. But before anyone can decide if they should go down there or not, Lopmon blocks the gate which would have lead them nearer to where Calumon is and says that they aren't going anywhere.
Calumon who is still stuck inside the cage gets a bit frighten when the whole area inside his cage turns red and suddenly a voice speaks up. The voice tells Calumon that Calumon has something inside of him that the Digimon Sovereigns need. Calumon doesn't like this idea of his kidnappers getting something from inside of him, so he tells the voice what he is thinking. The voice doesn't care and says that there is nothing that Calumon can do to stop what is about to happen to him, because simply there is no way out of this cage. After this the voice disappears and Calumon is left to worry about what may happen to him in the near future.
While this is happening to Calumon, Lopmon finally says why she doesn't want anyone to go to the Sovereigns' lands just yet. It turns out the Sovereign who is in charge of the area is strong and battling him would be like walking into your grave. And, the thing is, Lopmon won't be able to help them since she can no longer Digivolve into her ultimate form, and even if she could it would still be impossible for her to battle him, because since he created her, he can destroy Lopmon just as easily. So, now the Tamers are left with a huge problem. How can they rescue Calumon without killing themselves?
While walking around a hot desert in the Digital World, the Digimon discuss how they became partners with the humans. While this certain discussion is going on, Guilmon says that he isn't quite sure how he became Takato's partner because it was quite a confusing story. One day Takato just dreamed him up. Jeri then starts to feel ashamed of herself when Kyubimon says that when she became Rika's partner she wanted someone that was strong and so she got Rika. And, Jeri thinks that she isn't strong and so she tells Leomon that she is quite sorry that he got stuck with her when he should have gotten someone that was strong like Rika. Leomon then says that strength doesn't matter because Jeri has a lion heart and that's all that really matters when it comes to a Tamer. After this is said, the Digimon keep on discussing about certain topics and Guilmon hopes that he will soon find Takato.
Finally, Takato has solved the problem of how they are supposed to battle the Sovereign. Henry will stay with Suzie and Takato will go with Terriermon so they can defeat the Digimon. Even though Henry doesn't really like the plan, he agrees with it anyway. But before Takato and Terriermon can head off towards the Sovereign's place, Beelzemon rides up on his motorbike and says that he wants to battle Takato and the others. They know that they have no other choice but to fight so Terriermon soon digivolves to Rapidmon and the battle begins. But soon it appears clear that Rapidmon has no chance of defeating Beelzemon alone and soon enough Rapidmon is bashed up so badly that he can barely stand. While this is happening, Takato can't help but feel bad about not being able to help the others. He also knows that if they don't find Guilmon and the others fast they will be doomed. But there is no way that they can find Guilmon while they are trying to get rid of Beelzemon so Takato does the only thing that he can do at a horrible time like this, and that is to cry and start screaming the name, 'Guilmon'.
Guilmon and the others are still walking through the desert when Guilmon stops suddenly and starts to listen to the movements and sounds around him. When Kenta asks Guilmon what he is doing, Guilmon says that he heard Takato screaming. Jeri then says that she heard it too. And, that's when they see it. A data steam comes flying towards them. And from it, they can hear Takato's screams for help. There are now two things that they could do. They could run away from the data steam like they always do. Or they could just stay and wait for it to reach them so that it may be able to take them to where Takato and the others are. Kenta and Kazu don't want to stay around this area, so they start pleading if the others will change their minds. But it seems that the others want to stay because they all think that they may be able to find Takato. So, when the data stream comes, it teleports them to where the others are.
Takato is quite happy to see them and after their little happy reunion they
all start to battle Beelzemon. But it seems that nothing will defeat Beelzemon
and soon enough Beelzemon is about to destroy Kyubimon, but before Beelzemon
can strike her down Leomon holds him back, saying that what he is about to
do isn't the right thing to do. Beelzemon then gets angry and uses his
hand to dig into Leomon's chest. This makes Leomon fall onto the ground
and also makes Jeri cry. And then the most horrible thing happens. Leomon's
data starts to vanish, and it seems that Leomon is going to die. But before
he dies, he tells Jeri that she has a lion heart. After the sudden death
of Leomon, Takato changes into a meaner person, who wants to kill Beelzemon
for
once and for all. So, with that Guilmon's champion form turns into Wargrowlmon
and then the Wargrowlmon tries to kill Beelzemon, but Beelzemon is too powerful
for Wargrowlmon and soon, Takato is yelling at Wargrowlmon to Digivolve into
his mega form. And, sure enough, Wargreymon does Digivolve but his newest
form isn't what Takato had wanted to dream up.
From Takato's hatred a out of control evil Digimon was created. And,
Takato can only watch helplessly has the Guilmon he once knew vanishes into
thin air to be replaced by such a ugly and evil creature. Takato's hands
start to shake and he can no longer hold his Digivice, it soon falls onto
the ground where it breaks and turns into data which slowly disappears.
Now, the Tamers and their Digimon have a new problem. Guilmon might be able to defeat Beelzemon but even so, will this new form kill the Tamers as well? They will just have to wait and see, and hope that nothing horrible will happen to them.
