Jeri's Quest

Season 3, Episode 21

The Episode starts with Jeri walking towards Takato's parent's bakery, when she gets there she buys some bread and when Takato's father asked her if there is anything else she wants; she asks if Takato is home. When he says that Takato isn't home Jeri leaves the bakery where she runs into Kazu and Kenta. They ask her straight away if she is looking for Takato. When she says that she is, they both grab her by her arms and start walking forward saying that they will try and track him down. Jeri then complains that they are ruining the bread that she has just bought.

Meanwhile, at the Hypnos Building, Yamaki is telling Henry's father that barely anyone in the town is aware of what the Digimon are doing and that they are their secret guardians. He then explains that if Henry's dad doesn't finished making the code then the future of the human world will be in sake. Henry's dad then explains that the code that they are trying to find isn't as easy as copying a code from a cereal box, that it is much harder to make. Yamaki then says that if Mr Wong really does care for his children then he should better find that code.

Meanwhile, Jeri, Kazu and Kenta have finally made it to Guilmon's hideout where they can see Takato, Rika, Henry, Terriermon, Renamon and Guilmon inside discussing a lot of stuff about the devas and with what they have been saying about the Digimon Sovereign.

The theory that they have is that the Digimon Sovereign is behind everything that has happened, and to save their world they will have to destroy him first.

But, in the bushes, Kazu and Kenta are starting to get bored. Kenta thinks in his mind that there should be more fight than talking and Kazu wants more action but, Jeri thinks it is nice that they are getting along...after they think this Kenta says how cool it would be if they could have real Digimon and do the stuff that they are doing. For once, Kazu agrees and says that he also wishes that he had a Digimon. They then ask Jeri if she would want a Digimon. She then says that she wouldn't really want one because stuff like that never really happen to her and that she isn't really interested in Digimon. After they ask her this they then compare which Digimon they would like to have. They then ask Jeri this question and she just says what she said before, that she isn't interested in Digimon. But, before Kazu and Kenta have time to take in with what she had just said one of the pockets on her dress breaks and a whole lot of Digimon cards fall out. Kazu then asks her if there is anything that she is keeping from them. Jeri then just laughs and picks up her cards....Kazu then says that she is one strange banana. They then look up towards Guilmon's hideout to see that the others are gone. They are shocked at this and they run up to Guilmon's hideout to see if the others are still inside. But, when they realize that they are not in the area, they realize that maybe they had gone to fight another one of the Devas. Kazu and Kenta get excited about this, so with that they run off and leave Jeri by herself. She then decides to go home.

While she is walking home, she runs into Calumon. Calumon can smell the bread which Jeri had brought at Takato's bakery, he comments on how good the smell is, and Jeri gives Calumon a piece of bread to eat. Jeri then decides to also have one.

While they are eating Jeri is lost in her thoughts. Even if she would never admit to Kazu and Kenta or anyone else, she loves Digimon and she would love a Digimon of her own. So, while she is eating she looks at Calumon who is also eating his piece of bread. She then gets a crazy thought, that Calumon could be her Digimon. Instead of thinking this over she quickly asks Calumon if he would want to be her Digimon. Calumon is shocked at this and he nearly chokes on the piece of bread that he had been eating. Jeri can't help but be insulted at this. She has this feeling that Calumon doesn't want to be her Digimon, and that that's only because she isn't has cool has Takato. She then says that right to Calumon's face and he starts to panic. He doesn't really know how to answer the question that she has just asked. So, he just says yes and no a couple of times which just makes matters worse. Jeri then has enough to Calumon saying yes and no and she tells him that she could make a very good Tamer if he would only give her the chance. But before Calumon can say anything more about what Jeri has just said they both hear a weird sound. They turn around to see the lid of a man hole being lifted up by some weird fog like smoke. Calumon starts to panic; he knows that whatever is coming can't be good. But, Jeri just says that she won't panic because she is sure that Tamers don't panic. Soon enough the fog like smoke disappears and a weird looking Digimon appears. The Digimon looks kind of like a mouse because of its mouse like head, but its golden coloured legs are what you would see on a spider, and its body is a kind of weird machine looking thing which is round.

For a moment, Jeri thinks this weird looking Digimon is her partner. Once again she says what she is thinking out loud and the Digimon says that he is not her partner because no Deva would be a partner with a weak human. Jeri at first is happy with this news; she didn't really want this Digimon to be her partner because she didn't even know if he was a mouse, a nut cracker or a spider. But, then she realizes that the weird looking Digimon may have come to fight her and Calumon. She then asks Calumon to use his special attack. But he doesn't seem to know how to fight. Jeri is confused about this, because he is a Digimon and Digimon are supposed to have special attacks, but before she can figure out what is going on the weird looking Digimon starts chasing them. They have no choice but to run.

They run for a few minutes to discover that they might not live this, since; the Digimon is slowly catching up with them. And, it soon seems that they are doomed when they find themselves at a dead end where a fountain is. Jeri then says good bye to Calumon and says how good it was to know him…but then they notice something very weird. The fountain has just shot out a kind of huge rainbow which slowly makes a Digimon appear from the top of it. The Digimon is Leomon, who quickly jumps down from the rainbow and starts to attack the Digimon. Jeri is highly impressed with the way Leomon is fighting, and Calumon and Jeri are even more happy when Leomon uses his sword to make the Digimon fly up into the air and land somewhere near the park.

Straight away, Jeri runs up to Leomon and says thank you for his help. She then starts to blush. Leomon then asks her if she is okay. She says that she is just fine, and then she says that she is his Digimon Tamer and that they are destined to be together forever. This kind of freaks poor Leomon out, and he decides to make a run for it. But there is no way that Jeri is going to let Leomon get away like that. So, it slowly turns into a big game where Jeri and Calumon try to find Leomon who would be either running or hiding from them. But, Leomon slowly realizes that every time he does run Calumon seems to always give his hiding place away. So, when Leomon gets to Guilmon's hideout, when Calumon tries to call out Jeri's name to tell her that he has found Leomon, Leomon quickly runs out and grabs Calumon and runs back into the cave, where Jeri quickly runs past it.
Meanwhile, Takato and Guilmon walk up to the hideout and walk inside it. They are shocked to see that once again Calumon has gotten himself into another dangerous situation. Takato then looks up on his D-Power to see if he can find any information on Leomon. He soon finds out that Leomon is supposed to be a brave Digimon. But Takato is sure that Leomon hurting Calumon is surely anything but brave.

Takato then says that he is going to fight Leomon by using Guilmon. At first Guilmon doesn't want to fight Leomon because he looks quite strong. But soon enough Guilmon decides to fight and Leomon knows that he has no choice but to fight. So, just when they were about to start fighting they hear a voice, so they turn around to see Jeri, who seems to be very happy. Leomon can't help but groan to himself but he knows that there is nothing that he can do just yet. Jeri then says that she is now a Tamer just like Takato. Takato is shocked by this and he doesn't really know what to say. But before he can say something like they have to celebrate it Leomon cuts in and says that he has no clue in what everyone is talking about. He has never heard of Partners or Tamers before, but he says he has always been a lone warrior and that is the way it is going to stay. Takato then asks if that means that Jeri isn't his Partner. Leomon then just says that he has no clue what that is. After Leomon says this, Jeri decides to explain what a Tamer and Partner mean. She just says that it means that they have to be together forever. Leomon says that is never going to happen, he then runs off. Jeri can't bear the thought of him getting away so she keeps on chasing him. After Jeri has left Guilmon says that Jeri is a fast runner.

After a few more minutes of this Takato decides to call up Rika and Henry on the pay phone to ask them what they think. He first rings up Henry who says that Tamers don't usually act that way towards their Digimon, but he agrees that he will meet Takato at the park. Next, Takato rings up Rika who asks if Jeri has a digivice. When Takato finds out that she doesn't have one, Rika says that Jeri is just delusional and that she isn't a Tamer, but she also agrees to be there. Takato then hangs up the phone when he hears a scream, which is coming from the park. A minute later and he can see Jeri running out of the Park and towards him, and following her is the same Digimon that was chasing Jeri and Calumon before. Jeri then quickly explains to Takato that this Digimon has been chasing her around all day and that he says that he is a deva. Takato quickly looks checks his at D-Power to find out that the Digimon's name is Kumbhiramon. A few seconds after Takato has checked up the information on this new Deva Henry and Terriermon arrive. Leomon, who ran out of the park to protect Jeri from Kumbhiramon, is trying to fight him off. Henry then asks what Leomon is doing here if he isn't Jeri's Partner.

But, anyway, at first it seems that Leomon is going to win, but then Kumbhiramon uses his Deva Clone attack which makes copies of himself, so he can have a better chance of winning. After this happens, Leomon starts to lose the battle because there are two many Digimon to fight at once. Terriermon decides then that Leomon needs the help so with the help of Henry and Calumon Terriermon digivolves to Gargomon. That's when the battle gets a little bit easily.

But meanwhile, Jeri wants to help Leomon win the fight so she asks Takato if she can borrow his D-Power. Takato lets her and she tries to use a card, but it doesn't seem to work. She then tries again but lets the same result. Jeri then knows for certain that she isn't Leomon's partner. With this big shock she can't help but cry. At that moment Rika and Renamon arrive and just in time to see the weird looking boy again. They decide not to fight the deva because they know that catching up to the boy is more important since there are already other Digimon fighting the Deva.

After Rika and Renamon leave the battle rages on and for the first time Leomon notices that Jeri is crying. So, he uses his Fist of the Beast King to defeat Kumbhiramon. He then leaves without saying too much because he knows that if he stays any longer, Jeri's tears will make him stay.

After Leomon has left, Henry says how sorry he is that Jeri isn't a Tamer, after that, Henry and Terriermon go home leaving Takato and Guilmon alone with Jeri. Takato tries his best to make her feel better but he has to stop when Guilmon runs off back to his hideout because he reckons that it is all too sad to take in. So, Takato runs after Guilmon and leaves Jeri by herself, who at the very moment is thinking to herself how much of a fool she has been because, she knows that she should have realised that she wasn't special enough to have a Digimon of her own.

Meanwhile, Henry's dad, and his friends that he has been working with have just discovered something. They have found a drawing of two kids holding Digivices. They then remember how they all use to have them too when they were creating Digimon. But then, they hear a sound and to their amazement they can feel the ground shaking. They have no clue what it is, but they are sure that they will find out soon enough.
