[OPEN SCENE: TAI IN HIS CLASSROOM]
Tai [thinking]: Hold on, Agumon! I'll be there soon. Hmmm...just a few more minutes. Ph! Integrate, quadratic...it's like this stuff makes no sense!
Kari: hurry!
TK: We're late!
Davis: Quit splashing!
[INT. - COMPUTER ROOM]
Tai: You guys are late.
Kari: We're sorry, Tai.
Davis: Don't blame Kari, it's my fault we're late. I had an appointment for a haircut, but when I looked in the mirror, I realized my hair was perfect!
TK: The problem is, he was looking in the mirror for over an hour!
Tai: But what about Agumon??
Davis: Have him make his own appointment!
Tai: grrr...
Kari: Davis, if you're going to be a digidestined, you're going to have to think less of your hair and more of the team!
Davis: Okay.
Kari: Now, let's go save Agumon!
TK: But where's Yolei?
Poromon: Yolei!!!
Izzy: She's cleaning her glasses.
Davis: As big as her glasses are, that could take hours! When are people going to learn to wear goggles?
Tai: Hurry up and go find her so we can leave already!
Davis: Okay, okay!
Cody: I'll go too.
[YOLEI is standing outside of the classroom door]
Cody: Yolei?
Yolei: Hey, how ya doing.
Tai: Yolei! We've been waiting for you to go to the digital world! We're going to save Agumon.
Davis: We're going to show that digital emperor just who's boos! Huh? What's wrong?
Poromon: Aren't you excited to go to the digital world?
Yolei: I'm not going.
DemiVeemon: What not? Tell us what's wrong so we can help.
Tai: Well, I could see you're the last person I'd call if I was in trouble and needed help.
Kari: Be nice, Tai.
Tai: I'm sorry. I'm just worried about Agumon. I don't want any of you to put yourselves in danger if you feel you're not up to the challenge. Maybe it would be better if you stayed here, Yolei. I don't want anyone going if their heart's not into it.
Kari: Hmm.
TK: And if it'll make you feel any better, Yolei, you can stay and do my math homework to keep yourself busy.
Davis: Mine too.
Cody: Now that I think about it, my kendo sticks could use some polishing.
Yolei: It's alright if I don't go?
Izzy: Sure! You can make a day of it! Cleaning, math homework, and all those other fun things you love.
Yolei: You sure?
Gatomon: What do I have to do, hold up a sign? If everybody says you should stay, then you should stay!
Poromon: Gatomon's right, Yolei. If you don't feel like going to the digital world, then I don't feel like going either!
Yolei: Hmmm.
TK: Now that that's finally settled, let's go get Agumon!
Kari: If everyon's ready, then let's go, Digidestined! Digiport Open!
Digimon Emperor: The dark rings keep failing me. First it was Andromon. Then SkullGreymon. The Dark Ring. There must be a flaw with it. But what could be wrong? Is it just not powerful enough? Ooh, I can still experiment on Greymon.
Wormmon: Here we go again.
[TRANSFER to DIGIWORLD]
Tentomon: It's good to have the whole gang back again! Welcome to my treehouse! Actuallt, it's not much of a treehouse anymore, since skullgreymon disintegrated it. Now it's more of a twighouse.But that's okay. I was planning on re-decorating, anyway.
Davis: We don't care about your stupid treehouse, Tentomon! We came here to stop the digital emperor from hurting more digimon!
Tai: It's more important we stop him. If he continues to gain power like this, he'll threaten the whole digital world!
Armadillomon: Hey, watch it, Cody! Be careful!
Cody: I'm sorry, but that Ken makes me so angry!
Armadillomon: Yeah, me too!
Cody: Armadillomon, you really need to control your temper!
Patamon: How in the digiworld are we gonna find out where Agumon is?
TK: Tentomon can help!
Veemon: Now that Tentomon is out of his tree, we can climb it and have a look around!
Tentomon: Stay out of my tree!
Davis and Veemon: ohhh.
Kari [to Tai]: You okay?
Gatomon: Tai hasn't been this angry since I popped his soccer ball with my claws!
TK: He certainly has a right to be!
Gatomon: All this standing around is making my paws itch. Let's get going!
Tentomon: Yeah! I'll go see what I can find out. And don't touch me tree! I know exactly how many pieces of bark are on it.
Kari: Everything will be okay, Tai.
Tai: I know.
[INT. - EMPEROR'S HIDEOUT]
Digimon Emperor: Greymon, the time has come!
Greymon: *growl*
Digimon Emperor: Greymon, Dark digivolve!
Greymon: Greymon, dark digivolve to...SkullGreymon!
SkullGreymon: *roar*
Wormmon: He's trying to escape. And we just has the walls re-stucco-ed
Digimon Emperor: Huh? Too powerful. He's overloading the dark ring! I must transfer more power to it.
[SKULLGREYMON dedigivolves]
Digimon Emperor: That was close.
Wormmon: You can't control him, he's too powerful.
Digimon Emperor: You wanna bet?
Wormmon: Please master, let's just let him go.
Digimon Emperor: Be quiet. Greymon, Dark digivolve!
Wormmon: Why won't he ever listen to me?
[with TAI and the OTHERS]
Tai: Look a Control Spire! This is one of the areas controlled by te digimon emperor!
Davis: Something's coming! Careful!
Woodmon: I am Woodmon! I cannot be defeated!
Flamdramon: Flame Shield!
Woodmon: Hey! I'm being defeated!
Flamedramon: Fire Rocket!
Woodmon! Yikes! Ah! Whas happened to me? And who are you?
Tai: Woodmon! Do you know where the Digimon Emperor can be found?
Woodmon: Well, I'm not really sure, but I think he went that way.
Tai: Thanks a bunch! Go, go!
Woodmon: Can I get some help here? Seriously! Big Spire! Really heavy!
[INT. - GIRL'S WASHROOM]
Yolei: Huh. I cleaned my glasses for the third time today, and I'm still not happy. Tai, guys, is everything okay? Oh, it's no use. They probably don't want to talk to me after I let then down. Well, it's time I got tough. Oops...I missed a spot.
[INT. - COMPUTER ROOM]
Tentomon: According to my information, Agumon can be found in railtown.
Izzy: That's great, Tentomon. I'll let them know.
Tentomon: And tell them to stay out of my tree!
Izzy: Uh...you bet!
Yolei: Is everybody okay, Izzy?
Izzy: Tentomon found Agumon. Hey, what's wrong?
Yolei: I want to help. Please let me tell them, okay?
Izzy: Sure, just tell them about railtown.
Yolei: Yeah.
[INT. - DIGIMON EMPEROR'S HIDEOUT]
Digimon Emperor: Once more...
SkullGreymon: *growl* [attacking walls]
Digimon Emperor: The power levels...Foolish creature. You should know better than to fight me! But, you have given me what I need. The ring can control an adult stage digimon, but not a fully evolved digimon. It needs to be a different shape...like a cylander, or a ...huh? Of course! I know what I need to do now! *laugh*
[with TAI and the OTHERS]
Cody: Tai, slow down!
Tai: We don't have time to slow down!
Patamon: Hey, look!
Tai: We made it! Railtown!
Kari: Railtown!
Cody: Railtown!
Davis: Looks more like 'Grass and Hill Town' to me.
Tai: Come on, guys, Agumon is in this town somewhere, so let's go! Everybody split up and start looking for him.
[with the EMPEROR]
Wormmon: If Agumon escapes, Ken will have to use me. But, he's going to be mad! I'mm bake him some brownies.
[WORMMON frees AGUMON]
Agumon: The dark ring's gone, I'm free! Now it's time for a little payback.
Digimon Emperor: This new structure will increase the power tenfold! I won't even need control spires! No one will ever stop me from taking over the digital world. Not a dark ring, but a dark spiral! With this, I can control even a fully digivolved Digimon! Now to test it on Agumon. He's gone! But, but how?
[in RAILTOWN]
Davis: Tai, Agumon's close! I'm following his tracks!
Tai: Those are train tracks, Davis.
Veemon: What's that noise?
[a TRAIN comes out of a TUNNEL]
Kari: It's either the local or the express.
TK: And look who's driving!
All: Woah!
Tai: It's Agumon! Agumon!
Agumon: Tai!
Gatomon: That ought to slow him down.
Tai: Agumon, are you okay?
Agumon: Yeah, I'm fine! Tai!
Tai: I'm so happy to see you. Give me a great big hug!
Agumon: Ow!
Tai: Are you okay? Did he hurt you?
Agumon: No, you were just squeezing my ribs too hard.
Kari: Tai, we'd better get going. I'm sure Ken will come after Agumon. Ugh! [pushed out of the way by DAVIS]
Davis: Are you kidding? We came here to fight! Now you want us to turn around and go home?
Tai: Listen, I want to get back at the guy who did this to Agumon, too, but you gotta learn that sometimes you gotta think with your head, not with your heart. Remember, we're not at full strength, and Agumon's been through a lot, so our first priority is to get his back to safety.
Davis: You mean, we can come back here later and get him?
Tai: Mmm-hmmm
[INT. - DIGIMON EMPEROR'S HIDEOUT]
Digimon Emperor: How did Agumon get away?
Wormmon: An escape clause in his contract?
Digimon Emperor: I'm not in the mood for humour.
Wormmon: Good, because I want to talk to you about something serious. Master?
Digimon Emperor: What?
Wormmon: I was just thinking. Mayeb you could use me for your experiments. I'm a digimon, just like Agumon. I can digivolve, to! What do you say?
Digimon Emperor: I say you forget about it!
Wormmon: But please Master! I've done evertything you've asked me to, and more! I even cleaned that hair trip thing in the shower.
Digimon Emperor: *laugh*
Wormmon: Don't laugh!
Digimon Emperor: And what kind of digimon would use digiolve into? Perhaps you transform yourself into a giant butterfly with scary looking wings? You're about as useless to me as an old pair underwear that's made out of 100% poison ivy.
Wormmon: Give me chance Ken, and you won't be.
Digimon Emperor: And would you stop calling me that? My name is the Digimon Emperor!!
Wormmon: All I'm saying is that now that Agumon's escaped, I'm all you've got!
Digimon Emperor: Enough! Huh? They're here! And they've got Agumon. He's a useful digimon.
Tai: And we'll have cookies, and ice cream...
Agumon: I want mine with chocolate sprinkles!
Digimon Emperor: How endearing.
All: Ah!
Kari: It's Ken!
Digimon Emperor: My name is the DIGIMON EMPEROR!
Davis: So now you don't want to be called Ken, huh? So how's Kenny or Kenneth?
Digimon Emperor: You don't want to make me angry!
Tai: So it's you who put Agumon in a cage like a wild animal!
Davis: Why don't you come down here now and take your medicine like a man?
Digimon Emperor: You do amuse me so. I can defeat you just as I defeated Agumon!
Tai: Quiet!
Cody: You should be ashamed of yourself, Ken! You're the kind of bully that gives bullies...a bad name!
Digimon Emperor: I'm afraid you're going to have to do better than that, little boy!
Davis: DarkTyrannomon!
TK: We're surrounded!
Veemon: Give me the word Davis!
Davis: Yeah! Digiarmour Energize!
Veemon: Veemon, Armour digivolve to...Flamedramon: The Fire of Courage!
Armadillomon: Don't let Flamedramon have all the fun!
Cody: Right! Digiarmour Energize!
Armadillomon: Armadillomon, Armour digivolve to...Digimon: The drill of power!
Flamedramon: Flame fist!
Digmon: Rock Cracking!
Digimon Emperor: They're winning!
Flamedramon: Fire Rocket!
Gatomon: He's tough!
Patamon: I'll say!
TK and Kari: DIgiarmour Energize!
Gatomon: Gatomon, armour digivolve to...Nefertimon: The Angel of Light!
Patamon: Patamon, armour digivolve to...Pegasusmon: Flying Hope!
Nefertimon: Rosetta Stone!
Pegasusmon: Wind baying! Equis Beam!
Agumon: Attack!
Tai: Agumon!
Digimon Emperor: So, you've come back to me, Agumon! And I've got a new friendship bracelet for you.
Agumon: What is this?
[AGUMON is hit by the DARK SPIRAL]
Agumon: Ah!!
Digimon Emperor: You are mine again!
Tai: Agumon, are you okay?
Davis: Look out!
Digimon Emperor: Now Agumon! Dark Digivolve!
Agumon: Agumon, dark digivolve to...MetalGreymon!
Kari: He looks so different!
TK: And mean!
[DIGIMON AMALYZER]
TK: MetalGreymon's armour not only protects him, but it conceals his destructive Giga Blaster attack!
Digimon Emperor: The dark spiral is working perfectly! Agumon did it again!
Tai: Agumon! You've got to fight the Digimon Emperor's control! It's me, Tai! Don't you recognize me?
Digimon Emperor: Ooh, such a tense moment. I've got chills. Allow me to answer. MetalGreymon, attack!
Davis: He doesn't know who you are!
Pegasusmon: Nefertimon, help me stop him!
Nefertimon and Pegasusmon: Golden Noose!
Tai: Don't hurt him!
Flamedramon: He's metal, he'll be fine.
Pegasusmon: We've got him trapped!
Nefertimon: Digmon, can you get to the dark spiral?
Digmon: That's no problem for old Digmon! If he'd just stop dancing around!
Tai: Agumon!
Davis: Okay, we're out of here.
Kari: I can't move!
TK: I've forgotten how to move!
Pegasusmon: He's trying to break the Golden Noose!
Nefertimon: Watch it!
Tai: Let me just try to reach him! Ah!
Davis: The only thing you'll reach is the bottom of his footprint, Tai!
[METALGREYMON breaks the GOLDEN NOOSE]
MetalGreymon: Giga Blaster!
Digimon Emperor: *laugh* *cough* With these Dark Spirals, I will control the whole digital world! Goodbye, Digifools! and say goodbye to your pet Agumon. For good! *laugh*
[the DIGIMON EMPEROR flies away]
Tai: Agumon! No!
Digimon Emperor: With the dark spirals and MetalGreymon, I am invincible! MetalGreymon is the missing link I needed. Nothing can stop me now!
Davis: That kid it just begging to be taken down and pay!
Cody: But how can we defeat him?
Tai: I let Agumon down just when he needed me the most, and I...
TK: It's Yolei and Hawkmon!
Kari: And Matt!
[YOLEI, HAWKMON, and MATT ride in on a sailing train]
Yolei: I'm sorry about not coming before.
Cody: That's okay. I knew you'd show up eventually!
Matt: Well, it's a good thing she did stay, or I never would have found you all!You'd better fill me in on what happened until now.
[everyone explains it to MATT]
Matt: I see. Well, it certainly sounds like you have a full day.
Tai: That's right. It's all my fault.
Matt: Tai?
Tai: Huh?
[MATT punches TAI]
Davis: Hey, why are you hitting Tai? You guys are supposed to be friends! And friends don't fight friends unless they're on a boxing team, and that's a whole different thing!
TK: Let them be, Davis!
Matt: Tai.
[MATT helps TAI up]
Tai: You're right. Thanks, Matt. I needed that.
Davis: Huh?
Matt: Sure! Anytime, I'll do it again!
Tai: I really appreciate that. I know I was just blaming myself for seomthing that was conpletely out of my control, and It also doesn't help if I stand around feeling sory for myself. We need to focus on how we can get Agumon back.
Matt: We have to be willing to fight Agumon at full strength. I'm sure Agumon would rather be defeated by us than remain a slave of the digimon emperor.
Tai: Okay. in the future when we see the Digimon Emperor, we're going to have to face our friend Agumon, as well. I don't know how to say this...
Gatomon: Let me handle this, Tai. Okay, everyone! Next time you see Agumon, trash him? Understand? I can't hear you!
All digimon: Right!
TK: Defeat Agumon! I can't believe those words came from my mouth.
Yolei: Yeah! Let's go get Agumon back!
[everyone boards the traincars]
Tai: I've never travelled by sailing train before!
Kari: This is how all the important people travel.
Tai: Cute!
Davis: I can't see a thing! Who put the sail in front of everything?
